Terms & Conditions

1. General Terms and Conditions

  • The school operates Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM. Closing times may vary.
  • Maximum class size: 10 students (September to May), 12 students (June to August).
  • Students must present their passport on the first day. A copy will be retained by the school.
  • By signing the registration form, students consent to London Beacon Academy storing their personal data in computerized systems.
  • All new students must take a level test before booking a course. The School Manager will determine their level.

2. Payment and Fees

  • A non-refundable registration fee of £250 is required before starting the course.
  • Course fees must be paid in full four weeks before the start date. Fees exclude course books, materials, travel expenses, social events, and personal/health insurance.
  • Course fees are subject to change without prior notice.
  • International payments must be made in GBP, with students covering any additional fees (exchange rates, transfer costs).
  • Books cost £45 each. A new book must be purchased when changing levels or courses.
  • Second-hand books, if available, cost £30 each.
  • Students are responsible for any extra charges due to international bank transfers or exchange rate fees.

3. Class Schedule and Attendance

  • Classes are held as follows:
    • Monday, Wednesday, and Friday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
    • Tuesday and Thursday: 9:00 AM – 7:20 PM
    • Each lesson lasts 50 minutes.
  • Students arriving more than 10 minutes late will not be allowed in class until the next break. Habitual lateness may lead to consequences.
  • Students must attend at least 80% of their course to receive a leaving certificate or academic report.
  • If a student misses two consecutive classes without notification, their place may be given to another student.
  • Absences must be reported at least 24 hours in advance. Missed classes can be recovered if valid reasons (e.g., health, visa-related) are provided with 24 hours’ notice. Recovery must occur within six months.
  • Holidays must be booked in full weeks (Monday to Friday) with at least one week’s notice.
  • Students requesting holidays or timetable changes must email admissions@londonba.co.uk.
  • Level changes are determined by the teacher and take effect the following Monday unless otherwise stated.

4. Certificates and Progress Reports

  • Certificates and progress reports can be requested via email and will be issued within 10 working days.
  • Students in examination courses must pass a written test or obtain approval from the School Manager.
  • Exam fees must be paid directly to the exam provider. London Beacon Academy will notify students of payment deadlines.
  • Students must inform the school of any changes in address, emergency contacts, or medical conditions before starting their course. Failure to do so may result in course termination without refund.

5. Behavior and Conduct

  • Students must treat staff and peers with respect. Any behavior causing inconvenience, offense, or distress may result in exclusion from lessons.
  • Persistent misconduct or serious offenses may result in expulsion without refund.
  • Complaints must be submitted promptly or via email during the course. Post-course complaints will not be accepted.
  • The school is not liable for accidents, injuries, or loss of personal items during social activities.

6. Course Cancellation and Refund Policy

  • London Beacon Academy does not generally offer refunds.
  • No refunds will be issued after the course has started, except if the course is canceled and no alternative is available.
  • Refunds may take up to 60 days to process. A £40 fee applies to refunds made to non-UK accounts.

7. Visa Policy

  • No refunds will be given if a student withdraws their application after receiving a visa letter.
  • No refunds will be given if a student chooses to study elsewhere after the visa letter has been issued.
  • If a Short-Term Study Visa or Standard Visitor Visa is rejected, a refund may be considered upon submission of:
    • A full scanned copy of the rejection letter
    • All British immigration documents
    • The original enrollment letter sent to admissions@londonba.co.uk
  • Fraudulent attempts to obtain documents for visa applications will result in expulsion and notification to the UK Border Agency, with no refunds.

8. Accommodation

  • Accommodation is only available for students who have paid their course fees in full.
  • Accommodation is reserved upon receipt of a completed application form and full payment.
  • The minimum stay is two weeks for courses lasting two weeks or more. One-week stays are available for shorter courses.
  • The school reserves the right to alter accommodation arrangements without prior notice.
  • Students are responsible for any damages caused to host family property.

9. Force Majeure

  • The school is not liable for failure to fulfill obligations due to unforeseen events such as natural disasters, war, civil unrest, government actions, labor strikes, or service disruptions.
  • No refunds will be issued in such cases.

10. Photographs and Filming

  • Students may be photographed or recorded for promotional purposes.
  • The school holds the copyright to all photographs and videos used for marketing.
  • CCTV is in operation on the premises.

11. Classroom Rules

  • Smoking, including electronic cigarettes, is prohibited.
  • Mobile phones must be switched off during lessons.
  • Food and hot drinks are not allowed in classrooms.
  • Students must arrive on time. Late arrivals (over 10 minutes) must wait until the next lesson half to enter.
  • English is the only language to be spoken on school premises.

12. Anti-Discrimination Policy

  • London Beacon Academy is committed to an inclusive environment and prohibits discrimination based on race, color, religion, gender, age, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or other legally protected characteristics.
  • Discrimination reports should be made immediately to the administration and will be handled with confidentiality.
  • Discriminatory behavior may result in suspension or expulsion without refund.

13. Abusive Behavior

  • Abusive behavior towards staff or students is strictly prohibited and includes:
    • Use of foul, racist, or homophobic language
    • Physical aggression or intimidation
    • Stalking or inappropriate physical attention
    • Deliberate misuse of health and safety procedures
  • Any abusive behavior reported or observed will be referred to the Academic Manager. Violators may be expelled without refund.

14. Airport Transfer Conditions

  • Students must provide accurate arrival details, including flight number, terminal, and origin.
  • The school is not responsible for missed transfers due to incorrect arrival information.
  • The school primarily arranges transport from Oldham Airport but may provide service from Liverpool or Leeds in special cases.

By enrolling in London Beacon Academy, students acknowledge and accept these Terms and Conditions.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of England.
